Resolving to the Power of…
Ahhh, Spring is in the air…
Yep, spring quarter is upon us. New classes, new students and new resolutions. For those new to me or my teaching, the key word is effort. Look no further than previous posts to get a pretty good idea of my dismay when students put forth the bare minimum of effort, or worse, less effort. I realize it is community college, but it is still college. So lets all put behind us the days of just getting through high school, and realize that you are paying for an education. That you chose this class and that you will be held accountable for what you do or don’t do. You should be taking this class because you want to know the information and you want to make good images; any other reason, you might as well drop now and save us both the frustration.
Students always try to guess what I want. Don’t guess. It’s written on your syllabus. I want you to understand the information and make good images that challenge your abilities and creativity. Simple as that. I also want you to have fun doing it. It will take way more time and money than you think, but in the end, you will be more satisfied with your work than most other classes.
So settle in. Grab some caffeine. Resolve yourself to the fact that there is a lot of work to be done…
Adapt and Overcome…
