It Hurts When I Do This…
Finally it has come to an end. All the grades have been tallied and submitted, except for Chaffey because someone broke your school’s site… I’ll get those up ASAP!
As for the rest of you. I was generous, but not stupid. I enhanced grades that earned the push through attendance and effort, and didn’t for those that slacked or tried to push crap through in the end. Grades are evaluative, which means they not only reflect what you know, but how you did in the class. Some know a lot, but did little. Some know zip, but did a lot. Either way, you need a healthy dose of both knowledge and effort to do well, and those that did have both should be pleased.
Those that did less than satisfactory, I really don’t want to hear about it. I feel as though you have wasted my time and yours and honestly I have nothing left for you. Chalk it up to that “effort” thing I’ve been talking about, and maybe next time you will try harder.
In the event that you feel the need to complain about your grade, I will take it as an affront to my teaching and evaluation methods and subsequently publish your email here while ignoring your whiny email. Yes I can. This is my site and I can do anything I want. Please think before you write and waste more of my already limited time. If you have a valid argument, I am always fair.
Ok, now that I am done being a dick (sometimes you have to be) I would like to say Kudos to the rest of you that did the work and made some pretty darn good images! If you got a “C” or better I definitely encourage you to continue on with other classes.
For Chaffey Students; Photo 9 (postproduction/photoshop) or 12 (lighting) are your next steps. Digital will be moving to the new building so expect new stuff, but also expect some growing pains as we settle in.
For Saddleback Students; Photo 55 is the next (and last time offered) version of the wet lab intermediate class this spring. I will be teaching that. Come Fall, all classes will be completely digital and we will be moved down to the villiage. Classes will most likely be listed as photo 1, photo 2, and photo 3… Photo 201 students and Photo 50 students should think about taking that class or Photo 51 (photoshop) which I will be teaching this summer.
Have a great Holiday! Merry/Happy whatever mystical sky-friend you believe in.
I will continue celebrating the return of the unconquered sun…
