The Yin and the Yang
This project is designed as an introduction to Studio Lighting.
Working with available equipment to produce different lighting
effects appropriate to the subject and intent.
Use and understand hand-held meters and lighting ratios.
Use and understand terminology and equipment specific to studio
lighting.
Creatively use studio light techniques within your own body of
work.
Using the Lighting Handout,
choose two different lighting setups to achieve two completely
different takes on a common theme or subject.
The subject, as always, is up to you. Think about what you normally
like to shoot and figure out how you can explore that with lighting.
Once you have what you normally shoot, think about how you can
get as far away from your normal type of shooting as possible
using light.
Example:
Say you normally shoot soft, romantic, sweet shots.
Use a light that will accentuate that such as Butterfly Lighting
and shoot your subject.
Then choose a light that will be as far
from that as possible such as Horror Lighting and shoot the same
subject again.
You will turn-in a minimum of Two Printed Images. |
